Well, a new year is upon us and I have yet to comment about the past few weeks. Perhaps I’ll save some of that and reflect a bit instead.
From a personal perspective, 2009 was an eventful year in my flying adventure. This was the year where it finally became a reality for me to begin to learn to fly. There were several milestones this year including joining NOASARA and taking a Navigation course in the spring as well as beginning ground school back in the fall that it’s hard to say what was the highlight. But most certainly my first official training flight has to be at the top. I haven’t been able to do any more flying since then but with the new year here and a bit of flexibility in my life right now, I intend to get up on a more regular schedule.
The other major aviation-related highlight has to be Airventure 09. There were many significant things at Oshkosh including seeing the A380 and taking a ride in the B17 Aluminum Overcast. But being able to share that with my dad and my buddy Greg was probably the best part.
I want to say thanks and Happy New Year to everyone who has been so supportive and encouraging.
Stay tuned for more of my adventures of punching holes in the sky in 2010.
Clear skies
